Community Tour Sian Ka'an, in the surroundings of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, offers visitors the unique opportunity to enjoy boat tours from the Muyil lagoon system to the mouth of the Caribbean Sea, enjoying the fauna, flora and archaeological sites.
Xyaat
In the community of Señor, in the heart of the Mayan zone of Quintana Roo, is the Xyaat cooperative. It is made up of local people who seek to rescue and preserve the knowledge, legacies and traditions of the Mayan ancestors. They promote experiences to raise awareness of the local culture through environmental education programmes and the transfer of knowledge to the children of their community, as well as to visitors who learn about traditional craft techniques and the importance of caring for nature and biodiversity.
U belilek
U belilek Kaxtik Kuxtal, or ‘The way to search for our existence’ is a cooperative in the community of Tihosuco. Between Valladolid and Felipe Carrillo Puerto. A community known for its deep-rooted history with the Caste War.
Founded with the aim of creating sources of employment in the community, making sustainable use of the cultural heritage and improving the quality of life of its inhabitants through community tourism.
Kantemó
Kantemó is a small Mayan community in Quinta Roo. Known mainly for its incredible cave that houses hanging snakes, a unique ecotourism attraction.

Kíichpam K'áax
The Kíichpam K'áax ecotourism centre in Mayan, Selva Bonita in Spanish, is located 10 kilometres away from the town of Chunhuhub, in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Visitors can live the experience of coexisting with nature, respecting and preserving the environment and the Mayan cultural identity through responsible and sustainable ecotourism services and activities. Selva Bonita is a natural paradise, a place to get to know and learn about Mayan traditions.
Síijil Noh Há
Síijil Noh Há, which means ‘where the great water is born’ in Mayan, is a community-based sustainable tourism enterprise located in Ocom, near Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
This project aims to offer visitors adventure and education while promoting the conservation of the natural and cultural richness of the area. Located within the Much Kanan Ka'ax reserve, the centre covers 1,230 hectares and focuses on the protection of endangered species and biodiversity.
Punta Allen
Punta Allen is a small and picturesque fishing community located in the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. Surrounded by jungle, lagoons and the Caribbean, this place is an example of sustainability and coexistence with nature. The community's economy is based on artisanal fishing, especially lobster, and ecotourism. Punta Allen is known for its low environmental impact activities, such as boat trips to see dolphins, turtles, birds or manatees, as well as its offer of sport fishing and snorkelling in the coral reefs. The community works hard to maintain a balance between tourism and conservation by protecting the surrounding ecosystems.
